About the ropeXchange
The ropeXchange is a community festival centered around Shibari & Rope Bondage and other kinky topics. Our mission is to create a safe and inviting space for all who wish to explore the beauty and complexity of Rope Bondage & Shibari. Through a variety of workshops, networking opportunities, and social events, we promote the exchange of knowledge and strengthen the community. We celebrate diversity and creativity.
Since our founding, we have evolved from a small event for beginners into a diverse workshop weekend that takes place four times a year in Berlin. Our focus is on a queer-friendly, polynormal atmosphere that welcomes all genders, sexual orientations, and experience levels.
What you can expect:
- 36+ hours of programming: Intensive workshops, skill labs, and exchange formats covering rope techniques, safety, and creative bondage
- Learning without pressure: Step-by-step courses from Friday to Sunday – from basic training to the first (semi-)suspension
- Flexible participation: Many workshops require no prior knowledge, solo participants easily find contacts
- Safer Space: Awareness concept, retreat areas, and experienced presenters
- Social Highlights: Saturday evening play jam, peer networking, and communal practice in locations like theKnast
